Before you go
Know before you sail.
Documentation requirements depend on your citizenship and itinerary. Travelers are responsible for carrying the documents required for their individual circumstances.
For U.S. citizens on qualifying closed-loop cruises, Carnival currently permits certain proof-of-citizenship and document combinations in lieu of a passport, subject to Carnival and government requirements. We strongly recommend a valid passport, though supplier rules may permit alternatives for qualifying itineraries.
Travel documentation requirements can change. Guests are responsible for verifying and carrying the documentation required for their individual circumstances.
Age policyGuests must be 21 or older on the day of sailing to travel on their own. Guests 18 to 20 may sail only when traveling with a relative or guardian who is 25 or older. Limited exceptions apply for married couples and active duty U.S. or Canadian military, with documentation. Ages are verified at embarkation, and guests who do not meet Carnival's policy are denied boarding with no compensation. Carnival may change this policy.
AgeAge requirements are confirmed at booking. Most Chapter X experiences are designed for adults; please contact Chapter X if traveling with children.
Membership is not required for this chapter.
FAQ
Good questions.
What exactly am I paying for?
The Chapter X experience — your cruise accommodation in your chosen category, the Chapter X Signature Nassau Experience, the Welcome Experience, a curated itinerary, hosted group moments, and Chapter X hosting throughout. It is more than a cruise.
Is this a discount cruise?
No. Chapter X creates curated experiences around the chapter you are in. Carnival provides the ship; the Bahamas provides the backdrop; Chapter X creates the experience.
Can I come alone?
Yes, if you are 21 or older on the day of sailing. Solo occupancy is available at twice the per person rate, with a $500 deposit. Guests 18 to 20 must travel with a relative or guardian who is 25 or older (see the age policy below).
What is the age policy?
Carnival requires guests to be 21 or older on the day of sailing to travel on their own. Guests 18 to 20 may sail only when traveling with a relative or guardian who is 25 or older. Limited exceptions apply for married couples and active duty U.S. or Canadian military, with documentation. Ages are verified at embarkation, and guests who do not meet the policy are denied boarding with no compensation. Carnival may change this policy.
Can I bring my kids?
Children may sail when traveling with a parent or guardian. Carnival age rules apply to every guest, including minimum ages for infants. Guests under 21 must travel with a relative or guardian who is 25 or older. Ages are confirmed at booking.
Can I choose a different cabin?
Yes. Interior, Ocean View, and Balcony categories are available, with upgrades confirmed at booking.
How do payments work?
Reserve with a $250 per person deposit. The remaining balance is charged automatically to the card you reserve with on October 30, 2026. If you book on or after October 23, 2026, the full amount is due at booking.
Do I need a passport?
Documentation depends on your citizenship and itinerary. We strongly recommend a valid passport, though supplier rules may permit alternatives for qualifying closed-loop cruises. You are responsible for carrying required documents.
Is travel protection required?
No. Travel protection is optional and available through approved providers. It is not included in your Chapter price.
What if Carnival changes the itinerary?
The itinerary is subject to change by the cruise line. We will update you as soon as we know.
What if Chapter X cancels?
If Chapter X cancels the chapter, you receive a full refund of everything you paid us. If you cancel, deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, so we recommend optional travel protection.
